Hooray! I have been wanting to hear these stories too!
Here’s a “I might be crazy” story.
One day I was just walking around visiting with the plants around my house. I felt moved to make sounds with some of them. I thought “This is nuts. I hope no one is listening!”
Well, a month or two later while at a flower essence training with David Dalton, he tells of his experience with sound with the plants! You can check out his Moonlight essences.

I am so excited about this site. It is wonderful to connect with other people who understand the amazing nature of plants.
I am making a deck of cards for people to easily connect with their plant allies. I decided to do this after giving a couple of workshops on connecting with your plant allies and having people choose from decks of plant tarot cards.
I am writing about each plant in the deck, learning from them, realizing that I have so much more to learn about connecting with plants and working with them, and how to help other people connect with the gifts plants have for them.
It is daunting and totally exciting. I know I’m here to work with and for the plants.
Here’s a story about plants’ wisdom–about 11 years ago I went to an intensive with Eliot Cohen at Green Nations. When he had us journey to meet a plant, I had chosen mullein. I was disapointed because I didn’t really get any info from Mullien about what its medicine is, and I sort of fell asleep. Except–I had this image in of standing at a lectern in the front of a large lecture hall.
This was my first inkling that I might be a public speaker. I am currently working on developing my public speaking so that I can communicate with many people about what the plants have to offer and how we can work with and honor them.
As far as I’m concerned, those of us who talk with plants, and hear from the plants, are not crazy, just in tune.
And thanks for the reminder of focusing on abundance. So much more enjoyable than worrying about scarcity!
I’d forgotten that little vision until recently. How did Mullein know? It helps me know that I am here to help the plants.

. One of the sections we do in my Plant Spirit Healing Apprenticeship is with sound and plants. I have found that they respond immediately when you sound or sing with them as you so well know from your Mama Maple story.

Thanks for your story about Mullein. It is amazing how the plants speak to us and give us nudges. Your plant cards sound wonderful. I can’t wait to see them. It sounds like you have many stories to share. Please do tell more. I’m beginning work on another book right now which is primarily plant stories. If you have any you’d like to include I’d love to hear them.

In my spiritual path we know that the Holy Spirit manifests by sound as well as light. The plants are certainly singing the song of life with no holding back. They can teach us how to let go of our barriers to really experiencing the universal Love that is there for every being.
I will be experimenting more with singing and toning with the plants.

first i must say thanks for creating this forum, it’s a breath of fresh air knowing that my “abnormal” experiences are quite normal after all.
I recently moved to a new neighbourhood which is semi rural and facilitates a much more harmonious relationship with nature for myself and my family. from the first day i walked up the hill to this new house i noticed a cluster of plants by the roadside near the foot of the hill; a group of about 12 plants, all the same but different sizes. they displayed a very strong arresting energy like” don’t you dare pass me” so i stopped and said to my husband “i know this plant, i dont know from where, it has healing properties i don’t know for what, anyway i am sure i will remember.” since that day, every time i pass this same spot whether walking or driving the plant has literally been shouting at me to the point where i started complaining that i need to find someone to teach me how to tap into the spirit of the plant or my ancestors need to show me how to access my genetic memory. well, lo and behold! one day i was browsing amazon books and discovered Pam’s ” PLANT SPIRIT HEALING ” the universe had calibrated and brought me my tools. i have been reading, i am inspired and now all i need is some confidence and a visit to vermont! By the way the cluster of plants has matured and blossomed all the time shouting and at this stage litterally screaming at me; so, my dear husband after seven months of listening to my complaints said to me “babes all you need to do is ask your ancestors and they will assist you” . I walked down the hill, paused by my sreaming friends, noticed for the first time a well worn track to the river; i went down to the river along with my husband and two boys, payed homage to the spirit of the river, washed my hands face and feet, went back up to the plants had a very private conversation with them ,then with permission cut a piece of one, uprooted another, took them home and placed them on an alter in my sacred corner asking my ancestors and the spirit of the plant to reveal to me that which i need to know or remember. i will close by saying from the moment i walked up from the river until this moment my screaming friends have been very quiet (and watchful). ” i still dont know the name of this plant”

So many of us in America are orphans who barely know where our ancestors come from but their blood still courses through our veins and we carry a memory of them in our genes. Thank you so much for the reminder to ask for the help of our ancestors when wanting to remember the plants. I look forward to the next installment of the “screaming plants”.

Wow ~ It is so amazing when the signposts on my path become so clear! I found your book “Plant Spirit Healing” by accident when wandering through the new Crandall Library in Glens Falls, NY. Of course the beautiful plant on the cover of your book attracted me first and it took only a second more to know I would be bringing it home. Reading the book was one of those holy experiences where something you knew in the back of your mind suddenly becomes a crystal clear reality.
I have always been drawn to plants and trees, have houseplants and container gardens and am known to hug trees when invited to do so. When I read your book I started remembering the times plants or trees have communicated with me, and reading for the first time about something I had experienced myself was so joyous!
The first time I felt the spirit of a plant was with a pink rose bush. It was as if another dimension had suddenly opened up between us and I could feel it’s spirit and essence. At that time it was a “that’s interesting” experience but it opened me up to a deeper connection with green life. There have been other experiences since then, such as hearing my houseplants when I have let them go too long without water or attention, or hearing their song when they are content, trees that I “hear” greet me on a walking path, and once experiencing a deep, conscious connection with a tree while meditating in the woods. Recently while driving through an avenue of pines, they began dancing and greeted me joyously, throwing a puff of soft snow on my windshield and making me laugh and cry at the same time! Those pines knew what I needed at that moment!
Finding your book was no accident, as at this time I am doing some deep personal work. It’s become clear that my path involves healing, my own personal healing, but also creating a space for others to heal. I am a Reiki Master Practitioner, but feel that this leg of my journey is just beginning, and that somehow, plant spirit healing will become a part of it.
To top if off… I found that your Vermont location is only about a hours drive from my home! I plan to attend the Plant Communication Workshop in July which will be a huge step in my personal growth and getting out of my own comfort zone.
I can’t thank you enough for your book and look forward to learning from you!
